Brooklyn Man Charged for Robbing Little Boy and His Sister in Broad Daylight

BROOKLYN, NY – On Friday, Demba Ba, a 24-year-old resident of 1322 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including robbery and larceny. The arrest occurred at 8:00 AM within the 77th Precinct.

Ba faces charges of third-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny, petit larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree harassment, and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

The charges stem from an incident reported on Friday, June 7, at approximately 11:02 AM in front of 1436 Sterling Place. During the event, an unidentified male allegedly approached a 10-year-old boy and his 7-year-old sister, forcibly took $8 from the boy’s hand, and then fled southbound on Utica Avenue. Fortunately, the children were not injured.

The investigation led to Ba’s arrest one week later. The case continues to be under investigation as authorities piece together the details of the incident.
