Brooklyn man fatally shot on Lefferts Avenue; no arrests made

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 21-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday evening in Brooklyn, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:02 p.m. and found the victim, Nickalos Mitchell, with multiple gunshot wounds to the back near 415 Lefferts Avenue in the 71st Precinct.

Mitchell, who lived on Moore Street in Brooklyn, was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have not announced any arrests or identified a suspect. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the search for the shooter continues.
