Brooklyn Man Fatally Shot on Utica Avenue; NYPD Investigating

BROOKLYN, NY — A 25-year-old man was fatally shot in broad daylight on Sunday in East Flatbush, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 12:55 p.m. reporting a shooting in front of 837 Utica Avenue, within the 67th Precinct. Upon arrival, they found Johanci Chapman, of East 46th Street in Brooklyn, with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Chapman was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where he was later pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
