Brush Fire at Hartwood Acres Park in Hampton Township

On Wednesday, at 2:18 p.m., the Allegheny County Police Department received a report of a brush fire at Hartwood Acres Park in Hampton Township.

The fire expanded to roughly 100 by 100 yards, prompting multiple local fire departments to intervene and successfully contain it. Following the incident, one firefighter underwent assessment for heat exhaustion on-site.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s office was summoned to investigate the fire’s origin and cause.
