BUFFALO, NY – Carrie A. Preischel, a 41-year-old from Boston, received a sentence of a one-year conditional discharge and 100 hours of community service.

Buffalo City Court Judge JaHarr Pridgen issued the sentence on Monday.

Preischel violated public health laws by renting out a property at 468 Fargo Avenue, City of Buffalo, despite an Erie County Department of Health order prohibiting occupancy due to health code violations.

The property, inspected in January 2020 and again in January 2021, had unresolved issues, including chipping paint conducive to lead poisoning. Despite notices, the property was rented through February 2022.

Preischel pleaded guilty to Willful Violation of Health Laws, Public Health Law Section 12-B (1), an unclassified misdemeanor, on September 29.
