Buffalo parolee gets 7 year prison sentence for criminal contact with child

BUFFALO, NY – A 63-year-old Buffalo man will be going to prison for 7 years followed by 10 years of post-release supervision after being convicted for a crime against a young child.

According to Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn, 63-year-old Edward J. Cody, Jr. of Buffalo was sentenced yesterday afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan.

“The defendant admitted that he attempted to engage in sexual conduct with a juvenile at a location in the City of Buffalo on February 6, 2019. At the time of the crime, the defendant was on parole for a prior conviction,” Flynn said.

An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
