Burglars break into I Street restaurant, speed off in damaged Honda

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying suspects who broke into a Southeast D.C. restaurant in the early hours of July 18, stealing cash before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.

The burglary occurred around 3:38 a.m. in the Unit block of I Street Southeast. Investigators said the suspects smashed a glass window to gain entry, took money, and then left in a dark gray, four-door Honda Accord with an unknown Maryland temporary tag. The vehicle’s rear passenger window appeared to be broken and covered with a dark plastic bag.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects and their vehicle. Police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests and indictments.

Anyone with information is urged to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
