Burglars ram pickup truck into Northwest DC business in failed ATM heist

WASHINGTON, DC — A group of suspects smashed through a security gate and rammed a pickup truck into a Northwest Washington business in an attempt to steal from an ATM before fleeing empty-handed.

The burglary occurred on January 15 at approximately 5:43 a.m. in the 1600 block of P Street NW. Surveillance footage captured the suspects repeatedly backing the truck into the front of the business, but their attempts to break open the ATM were unsuccessful.

Police have released video footage of the suspects and their vehicle, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/S_TVqt7yXRo, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

Anyone with information is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text an anonymous tip to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for details leading to an arrest and indictment.
