Bystanders Intervene in D.C. Assault as Police Search for Attacker

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Authorities are seeking assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault in Northwest D.C.

On July 13, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded to an assault in the 1100 block of U Street, Northwest. According to reports, three victims were attacked by a large group until bystanders intervened. The victims were transported to a local hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS for treatment.

A nearby surveillance camera captured an image of one of the suspects.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible.
