Camden County supermarket bank robber arrested

Camden, N.J. – Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer, Acting Runnemede Police Chief William Sampolski, and Winslow Township Police Chief George Smith announce an arrest this week in two supermarket bank robberies that occurred in Camden County on July 13th and 16th, respectively.

On July 13, 2021, Chris Leblanc allegedly entered the Acme Supermarket, located at 501 East Evesham Rd. in Runnemede, went directly to the Citizens Bank located inside the supermarket, and passed a note to the teller. In the note, he demanded cash in specific denominations and threatened to shoot the teller, if she did not comply. He then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

On July 16, 2021, Chris Leblanc allegedly entered the Shoprite Supermarket located at 542 Berlin Cross Keys Road in Winslow Twp.  He placed some items into a shopping basket and then approached a teller at the PNC Bank, which was located inside the supermarket. He presented the teller with a note that was similar to the one he allegedly presented during the July 13th robbery in Runnemede.  In the note, Leblanc demanded cash from the teller in specific denominations and threatened to shoot him, if he did not comply.  He then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

As a result of a thorough investigation, detectives were able to determine that Chris Leblanc was the suspect captured on surveillance video inside the establishments.
