CANTON, OH – Sandra Armstead of Canton is celebrating her birthday with a $150,000 win on the Ohio Lottery’s Double Cash Doubler scratch-off ticket.

Purchasing a few $5 lottery tickets to mark her birthday on October 3, she initially thought she had won a smaller amount. “I scratch them off and then I said, ‘ooh, I got a winner’ but I didn’t scratch the amount,” she explained. After revealing the amount, she first believed she had won $10 or $15 before realizing the prize was significantly larger. “I said, ‘$150,000!’ I got the magnifying glass. This says $150,000. I said, ‘I don’t believe it.’”

After deductions for state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent, Sandra will receive approximately $108,000. The winning ticket was purchased at S & K Mini Mart, located at 2502 11th St SW in Canton. She plans to use her winnings to pay off debt and contribute to her church.

The Double Cash Doubler is a $5 scratch-off with a top prize of $150,000. As of October 10, there are four top prizes remaining in the game.
