Car Strikes School Bus Before Crashing Into Clarkstown Home

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. — A Clarkstown Central School District bus was involved in an accident Tuesday night after being struck by an SUV at the intersection of Laurel Road and Glenside Drive, according to local police.

The Clarkstown Police Department reported that the SUV collided with the bus while it was making a left turn onto Laurel Road. Preliminary investigations suggest that the SUV was traveling above the speed limit, which led it to veer off the road and strike a nearby house.

Fortunately, none of the students or individuals on the bus sustained any injuries, police said.

The driver of the SUV was injured and received treatment at the scene by medical personnel.

Authorities have not provided additional details regarding the extent of the driver’s injuries or whether charges are pending as the investigation continues.
