Police handcuffs and criminal fingerprints card

HARRISBURG, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced the indictment of Kelly Gonzales, 48, in a neglect case leading to a resident’s death at ARC of Lawrence County.

Gonzales, the administrator, failed to renew a resident’s anti-seizure medication prescription in 2021.

This neglect resulted in a fatal seizure. Gonzales was charged with neglect of a care-dependent person, tampering with records, and involuntary manslaughter. She altered medical records, falsely indicating discontinuation of the medication.

The resident died on December 2, 2021, after more than ten days without medication, as confirmed by autopsy findings.
