Carjacking being investigated in Queens

NEW YORK, NY – On Monday, at around 2:45 pm, an auto theft occurred near the intersection of Fresh Pond Road and 67th Avenue, as reported by the New York City Police Department. The 51-year-old female owner had left her 2021 Honda SUV unattended and running, keeping the keys with her.

Upon her return, she witnessed three unidentified individuals approaching and commandeering her vehicle. Despite holding onto the moving vehicle and sustaining minor injuries to her left hand and leg, the woman couldn’t prevent the theft. It was noted that the vehicle’s doors unlocked automatically due to her being in close proximity with the keys.

Emergency medical services treated her at the scene. The New York City Police Department is seeking public assistance to identify the three individuals responsible for the incident.
