CATAWISSA, PA – Christopher T. Long was arrested on Friday after officers responded to a welfare check at 705 Numidia Drive. Long is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of simple assault (M2), and one count of disorderly conduct.

Upon arrival, officers Donald Spotts and Anthony Kankowski began to hear Long yelling and using profanities while speaking with another person near the entrance to his apartment. Long became combative towards the officers and was initially non-compliant to their commands.

Long was taken to Columbia County Prison and was arraigned by MDJ Craig W. Long on the morning of Friday, 2023. He was initially unable to post 10% of the $5,000 bail but has since been released after having his bail posted. This incident highlights the dangers law enforcement officers face daily and serves as a reminder of their commitment to maintaining public safety.
