Antojito’s Restaurant Owners in Irvington Receive Violations for Opening Bar in Violation of Murphy’s Law

IRVINGTON, NJ – Irvington police this week didn’t care that Antojito’s Restaurant serves up about the best Mexican food in the entire state when it came to issue summons to owners Diana and Dunia this week for opening their restaurant.  The owners received violations for allowed patrons inside, allegedly seating customers and serving alcoholic drinks.  They now face a 10 day suspension of their liquor license.  Diana Ron, 38, of Union, N.J. and Dunia Mora, 59, of Irvington, N.J., were both cited for violating the orders on May 11. Cliffside Park Furniture Store Owner Charged for Selling Furniture During COVID-19 Pandemic

IRVINGTON, NJ – A Cliffside Park, New Jersey man has been charged for operating his furniture store and illegally earning income by police officers in Irvington. The incident happened just days before Governor Phil Murphy lifted a ban on non-essential retail services in the state.  Mohammad Bahar, 42, of Cliffside Park, N.J., was charged on May 12 with violating the emergency orders by operating a non-essential retail business — S&S Furniture Gallery in Irvington. Bahar, the store manager, was cited after police observed the store open and operating with customers inside.

Passaic Massage Parlor Shut Down, Owner Charged for Violating Murphy’s Law

PASSAIC, NJ – There was no happy ending this week for Miran Lee, owner of a Passaic massage parlor who was operating her business in violation of Murphy’s Law.   Miran Lee, 45, of Passaic, N.J., was charged on May 12 with violating the emergency orders and risking/causing widespread injury (4th degree) after police found her massage business – New Asian Massage – open and serving customers. On two prior occasions, Lee was issued summonses for violating the emergency orders by operating the same non-essential business and failing to practice social distancing.

Three In Lakewood Charged, One Arrested for Violating Murphy’s Law, Holding Religious Ceremonies

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Three Lakewood residents were charged this week, with one being arrested after police responded to backyard open-fires and religious gatherings.  The practice is called Lag BaOmer, a well known Jewish custom that involves the lighting of bonfires. Police in New Jersey Charge Perth Amboy Beauty Supply Store Owner for Breaking Murphy’s Law

PERTH AMBOY, NJ – A Perth Amboy Beauty Salon owner was charged for violating Murphy’s Law and operating a his beauty salon.  Chan Kwon, 49, of Perth Amboy, N.J., was charged on May 13 with violating the emergency orders by operating a non-essential business. Kwon owns a beauty supply store in Perth Amboy. The May 13 incident was the second time Kwon has been charged with violating the emergency orders. He received a summons on May 5 under similar circumstances.

Four People Charged In Burlington Township for Violating Emergency Orders

BURLINGTON  TOWNSHIP, NJ – Antwan Strickland, 20, of Roebling, Jemir Jones, 21, of Mount Laurel, and Rashaun Turner, 33, of Burlington Township were charged May 14 with violating the emergency orders after Burlington Police responded to a report of a dozen people gathered in the back yard of an abandoned home in Burlington city.Strickland, Jones and Turner were previously warned by police in connection with several similar incidents involving large gatherings. CAMDEN, NJ – A home health aide who was entrusted to care for an 80-year-old COVID-19 patient who later died. She is also suspected of infecting the patient’s family. Josefina Brito-Hernandez, 49, of Camden, N.J., was charged on May 14 with five counts of endangering the welfare of another (3rd degree and 4th degree).
