Smyrna Man Arrested on Gun and Drug Charges

**Smyrna, DE** – Delaware State Police arrested Nasir Wayman, 25, from Smyrna, Delaware, on felony gun and drug charges in Smyrna.

Earlier this month, the Kent County Governor’s Task Force initiated an investigation into Wayman concerning illegal narcotics distribution. During the investigation, it was found that Wayman also had a capias warrant for his arrest. On Monday, at around 7:30 p.m., detectives spotted a Kia Optima driven by Wayman entering the ACME parking lot on East Glenwood Avenue.

When detectives attempted to approach, Wayman fled, discarding drugs during the chase and was eventually caught after a Taser was used. A search of the parking lot, Wayman, and the vehicle revealed approximately 4.05 grams of heroin and a loaded 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number.

Wayman was taken to Troop 3 and charged with several felony offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution with a $70,000 cash bond.

Suspect Sought in Riverdale Park Homicide

**Riverdale, MD** – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is seeking public assistance in locating Fausto Galeano-Soriano, 44, wanted for a homicide in Riverdale Park. Galeano-Soriano is accused of murdering Angel Martinez, 53, and a reward is offered for information leading to his arrest.

On May 15 at approximately 5:20 p.m., Riverdale Park Police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man in the 5700 block of Riverdale Road. The victim, Angel Martinez, was later declared dead at the hospital.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Martinez died from blunt force trauma and ruled the death a homicide. Galeano-Soriano faces charges including first and second-degree murder.

**Stafford, VA** – A disturbance involving juveniles escalated on Sunday evening, leading to law enforcement intervention and subsequent charges.

On Sunday at approximately 4:49 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Kendrick Court in response to reports of a large-scale brawl involving between ten to twenty juveniles. Upon arrival, some individuals dispersed while deputies attempted to ascertain the situation with those who remained at the scene.

During the investigation, both juveniles and adults returned in an agitated manner, prompting deputies to detain those involved to prevent further altercations. Amid attempts to de-escalate, a juvenile assaulted a deputy before the situation was calmed. Deputies learned the initial cause of their dispatch to Kendrick Court.

The inquiry revealed that two juveniles had an altercation earlier in the day, leading one to confront the other later with a 19-year-old family member present. This confrontation resulted in further violence, with the 19-year-old becoming involved by assaulting a juvenile and using a Stanley Cup and a pepper spray bottle.

**Boston, MA** – On Friday at approximately 11:37 PM, police officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) and District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested three individuals: Alan Ridenour, 19, of Marlboro, Mario Florian, 19, of Ashland, and Geraldo Colon, 21, of Framingham.

Officers responded to a distress call at 485 Canterbury Street where an officer was reportedly trapped in his vehicle with individuals jumping on it. Upon their arrival, over one hundred vehicles blocked Canterbury Street. Officers began searching for the officer and, once found, the crowd dispersed.

The officer, who declined medical attention, described being obstructed by several cars and having his vehicle swiped by another. A suspect was observed entering a car without a front license plate, and upon confrontation, tried to flee in the vehicle nearly hitting officers.

During a search, a firearm, three different license plates, and key fobs were discovered. Officers also encountered a different vehicle parked off-road. Further investigation revealed it was stolen, and a firearm and two stolen plates were found inside.

**Newark, DE** – The Delaware State Police have arrested Janine McAlonan, 39, from Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, in connection with a burglary at a Newark area pharmacy. Two accomplices, Christopher Welch, 42, and another unidentified individual, remain at large.

Troopers responded to a burglary report on October 26 at approximately 3:00 a.m. at Saveway Compound Pharmacy on Albe Drive. Two suspects forcibly entered the pharmacy, stealing a safe containing cash and controlled substances worth several thousand dollars, which they placed into a dark-colored SUV provided by an unidentified driver who fled the scene.

Investigations, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, identified Welch and McAlonan as suspects in this and similar incidents in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Warrants for burglary and related charges have been issued, though the third suspect remains unidentified without a description available.

Deputy V.R. Weadon responded to the high school following the report of the snake. The English teachers humorously noted that the snake did not have a hall pass.

Named Barack Cobrama, the brownsnake was initially headed towards the Chemistry labs. It made a swift turn to a Geometry class before being captured.

Camden Man Arrested for Homicide Following Investigation

**Magnolia, DE** – The Delaware State Police have arrested Gregory Bratcher, a 63-year-old resident of Camden, Delaware, in connection with a homicide investigation in Magnolia.

On June 30, at approximately 4:59 p.m., police responded to a welfare check call in the 200 block of Apple Blossom Drive. Upon arrival, troopers discovered Marjeanne Lande, age 72, deceased inside the residence. The Division of Forensic Sciences later determined that Lande was a homicide victim.

Delaware State Police Detectives identified Lande’s boyfriend, Gregory Bratcher, as the suspect through their investigation. He was indicted by a Kent County Grand Jury on November 4.

On November 8, Bratcher was apprehended and charged with first-degree murder and strangulation, both felonies. After arraignment by Kent County Superior Court, he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,000,000 cash bond.

**CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD** – Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Morris Haskins Jr. from Washington, DC.

On Friday at approximately 5:50 PM, Maryland-National Capital Park Police and PGPD officers were dispatched to a park located in the 7700 block of Walker Mill Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Haskins was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead the following day, Saturday.

**White Oak, PA** – A teacher’s aide has been charged following an incident at Francis McClure Elementary School in White Oak, according to the Allegheny County Police Department. The General Investigations Unit investigated a report alleging the aide assaulted a 5-year-old male student with special needs.

The investigation determined the incident happened on the playground on November 7 at around 11:45 a.m. Video footage shows the aide, identified as 53-year-old Amy Kevicki, grabbing the child by the neck and pushing him to the ground. Kevicki then ignored the child and walked towards the building. No injuries were reported.

**FREEHOLD, NJ** – The Englishtown Chief of Police faces criminal charges following an investigation announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Tuesday.

Chief Peter S. Cooke, aged 58, has been charged with third-degree Computer Theft and third-degree Conspiracy to Commit Shoplifting. The investigation, led by the MCPO Professional Responsibility Unit, uncovered that between February 2019 and August 2023, Cooke misused a law-enforcement database to access personal information about two individuals without a lawful purpose.

Additionally, it was revealed that Cooke, while on administrative leave, assisted a co-conspirator in committing multiple shoplifting incidents at a local grocery store during August and September. The charges against Cooke were served earlier this month, with proceedings set to occur in Monmouth County Superior Court.

MCPO Assistant Prosecutor Melanie Falco, Director of the Professional Responsibility Unit, is prosecuting the case. Debbie Simon, based in West Orange, represents Cooke. Repeat Shoplifter Faces Felony Charge in Stafford

**Stafford, VA** – A woman known for previous shoplifting incidents faced a felony charge for another attempt at a Walmart on Garrisonville Road. The sheriff’s office responded to the incident on Friday at approximately 6:26 p.m.

Sergeant M.L. Jacobeen and Deputy S. Waheed were called to the Walmart for a suspected theft. The store staff reported that a female with prior offenses was involved. Deputy Waheed reviewed surveillance footage while Sergeant Jacobeen searched the vicinity.

Sergeant Jacobeen soon found a woman matching the suspect’s description. The suspect initially denied any wrongdoing and falsely identified herself as the daughter of Hank Aaron. She was later correctly identified as Janice Scott, 61, of Stafford.

Scott had been previously involved in two shoplifting incidents in October. On this occasion, she was caught with stolen meat, cheese, and crackers. She now faces three counts of shoplifting, felony second offense identity theft, providing a false identity, and unlawful name change. She is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $2,000 secured bond.

Woman Arrested on Multiple Warrants Including Child Assault Charge

**Pittsburgh, PA** – The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a woman with addresses in Pittsburgh and Irwin. The woman, Carley Johnson, was apprehended on warrants including an aggravated assault charge involving a child.

Carley Johnson, 27, has been a fugitive since April after not appearing in Westmoreland County Court for robbery and simple assault charges. She also faces charges from Mt. Lebanon for prostitution, a theft charge from West Mifflin, and an aggravated assault charge in Pittsburgh where the victim is a 2-year-old boy.

Detectives received information this week leading to Johnson’s location in the West End of Pittsburgh. On Thursday, at approximately 8:30 a.m., detectives approached a residence on Crucible Street.

Upon entry, they found Johnson hiding under a stack of blankets. She was taken into custody without incident and is now in the Allegheny County Jail.
