**Jersey City, NJ -** A jury in Hudson County has convicted a Bergen County man for his role in several armed robberies across the county in 2022. The decision was reached on Tuesday following a two-week trial.

Joel Krecz, 37, from Hackensack, was found guilty of numerous charges, including four counts of Armed Robbery, one count of Robbery, five counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, five counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and five counts of Theft. He also faced charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of Prohibited Weapons related to large capacity ammunition and hollow point bullets. However, Krecz was acquitted on one count of Aggravated Assault. The trial took place under the supervision of the Honorable John A. Young.

The incidents occurred between late Friday, April 29, 2022, and early Saturday, April 30, 2022. In these robberies, a handgun was used to demand money from business clerks. **Richmond, VA** – On Thursday at approximately 5:15 p.m., four individuals entered a business in Richmond, where one suspect began stealing merchandise.

The suspect was identified by their attire: a black jacket, blue hoodie, dark jeans, blue and white shoes, and a black skull cap. The individual claimed to have a gun when confronted by an employee.

Another suspect was reported wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black and gray shoes, with a handgun visible in their waistband.

Teenager Shot and Killed in Columbus

**Columbus, OH** – Columbus Police officers responded to a shooting report on the 1000 block of E. Weber Rd. early Wednesday morning at 12:03 AM. Upon arrival, they discovered 16-year-old Me’Khi Keys with a gunshot wound. Keys was transported to Riverside Hospital by CFD Medic 16 and was pronounced dead at 12:35 AM.

Preliminary investigations indicated that Keys and another juvenile were walking eastbound when they crossed paths with two unknown males walking in the opposite direction. After a brief exchange, one of the males pulled out a handgun and shot Keys. The suspects then fled eastward before turning south, potentially down Howey Rd.

The police request residents with cameras in the vicinity of the incident to review footage. Potential video evidence can be uploaded directly to detectives via a provided link or QR code.

Bensalem Police Arrest Repeat Offender for Child Crimes

**Bensalem, PA** – Bensalem Police have re-arrested Kevin Nguyen, 29, previously incarcerated for child pornography charges. Nguyen was initially arrested in 2021, served his time, and was released as a registered Tier 1 Sex Offender.

In June, authorities received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip mentioned that an IMVU user allegedly sent sexually explicit messages to a 13-year-old girl. Officers traced the messages back to Nguyen’s residence in Bensalem Township.

During a search at Nguyen’s home on Cricket Lane, he admitted to sending the explicit messages on IMVU, as well as engaging with underage females on Discord. Investigators discovered Nguyen was involved in graphic exchanges with a 14-year-old female on Discord, including discussions of sexual acts and sharing explicit images.

Nguyen is charged with several felonies, including Unlawful Contact with a Minor and Sexual Abuse of Children. On Monday, Nguyen turned himself in, was arraigned, and is currently held on 10% of a $500,000 bail at Bucks County Correctional Facility.

Glen Burnie Shooting Investigation Ongoing

**Glen Burnie, MD** – The Anne Arundel County Police responded to a shooting incident on Tuesday at approximately 7:40 p.m. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Snowcap Court in Glen Burnie, where officers found Natasha Renne Harris, 30, with multiple gunshot wounds.

First responders administered medical assistance and transported Harris to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was pronounced deceased shortly after. Attempts to save Harris were unsuccessful.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the case, as detectives and Evidence Collection Unit personnel gathered evidence at the scene. Several witnesses have been interviewed as a part of this active investigation.

Man Stabbed for Stabbing in Utica

Stabbing Incident Leads to Arrest in Utica

**Utica, NY** – Utica Police and Fire departments responded to a stabbing incident on the 200 block of Rutger Street late Tuesday night at approximately 11:50 PM.

The victim reported that he was involved in an argument with a known individual. During the dispute, the suspect used a knife to stab the victim through the wrist, causing injuries to both sides of the arm. Others present at the scene managed to disarm the suspect and keep him nearby.

Following the incident, the victim was taken to Wynn Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities detained the suspect, identified as 56-year-old Joseph Fields of Utica, and transported him to the Utica Police Department.

Upon investigation, Fields was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

**Upper Marlboro, MD** – Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. The 19-year-old victim, Stefan Groves, was a resident of Upper Marlboro.

On October 30, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to a shooting report in the 13300 block of Burleigh Street. Upon arrival, they found Groves outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives believe this was not a random incident and are currently working to determine a motive and identify any suspects. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

Pedestrian Killed in Stony Point Road Crash

Pedestrian Accident on Stony Point Road Results in Fatality

**Charlottesville, VA** – The Albemarle County Police Department and Fire Rescue responded to an incident on Thursday at around 7 PM involving a vehicle and pedestrians on Stony Point Road near Riverside Shops Way.

Six pedestrians were attempting to cross the road when a southbound sedan struck four individuals, including a 38-year-old woman and three children aged 3 years, 1.5 years, and 4 months. Two juveniles were not hit and required no medical attention. The driver remained on the scene and was unharmed.

All the children were taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The 38-year-old woman also received treatment for serious injuries. Sadly, the 4-month-old child passed away on Wednesday due to the injuries sustained.

**Pittsburgh, PA** – The Allegheny County Police have pressed charges against an adult paraprofessional following an incident at Sto-Rox Upper Elementary.

On Monday, the police department’s General Investigations Unit received a ChildLine report regarding a contractor. The contractor, employed at Sto-Rox Upper Elementary, allegedly struck a 10-year-old student with special needs.

The investigation revealed that the incident occurred on Thursday. Video evidence shows the student in the hallway when London Simmons, aged 31, allegedly opened a door into her, causing her to fall and break her glasses. Witnesses reportedly saw Simmons leave the scene without offering help, and the student suffered a minor eye injury.

After discussions with the district attorney’s office, charges were filed against Simmons. She faces endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault, both misdemeanors.

High-Speed Chase in Yancey County Concludes with Arrest

YANCEY COUNTY, NC – A high-speed chase concluded in Yancey County last Saturday involving a stolen vehicle from Virginia. The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle collided head-on with a patrol car near Mountain Heritage High School.

As a result of the accident, traffic around the area was temporarily disrupted to allow for an investigation. The highway was reopened to normal traffic approximately four hours later.

The individual involved, Jason Collin Hatcher, 43, from Bristol, Virginia, was apprehended following the incident. He faces charges including Felony Fleeing and Eluding Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, Felony Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Reckless Driving to Endanger, and Assault on a Government Official or Employee.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Adam Hashim from Lanham. Authorities have announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. **Claymont, DE** – Delaware State Police have arrested a 15-year-old girl related to a robbery at a Food Lion parking lot in Claymont earlier this month.

On the evening of October 3, at approximately 7:52 p.m., troopers responded to the robbery at 3609 Philadelphia Pike. A 78-year-old woman was targeted as she returned to her vehicle. One suspect seized her purse, causing a struggle that resulted in the purse’s contents spilling onto the ground, including her car key fob, which was taken by the suspects.

Detectives identified a 12-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old girl as suspects and secured arrest warrants. The two male suspects were previously apprehended last week.

On October 29, the 15-year-old girl was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with robbery and conspiracy and subsequently committed to VisionQuest Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.

Stafford, VA – Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests and Drug Seizure

A traffic stop in Stafford County resulted in the arrest of two wanted individuals and the seizure of controlled substances on Monday. At approximately 12:37 p.m., Deputy R.A. Weatherholtz observed a Cadillac with improper registration on Plantation Drive.

The vehicle was stopped on Lichfield Boulevard where Deputy Weatherholtz recognized the rear passenger, Deklyn Atkins, 21, wanted in Caroline County. The front passenger, Jasmine Calhoun, 25, was wanted in Fredericksburg. Both were taken into custody without incident.

Deputy F.A. Martinez and K-9 Mija, trained to detect narcotics, conducted a search of the vehicle. They found narcotics in a box near Atkins’ seat, in driver Dane Wisdom’s backpack, the center console, and his sock. Calhoun’s area had no items of evidentiary value.

Wisdom, 40, faces charges for two counts of possession of controlled substances and is held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail. Atkins was also charged with possession, served her warrant, and is held without bond. Calhoun’s bond is set at $2

Two Women Found Fatally Shot in Willingboro Home

**Willingboro, NJ** – Two women, identified as Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother Marisol Nunez, 54, were found fatally shot in their home early Sunday morning. The incident occurred in the Hawthorne Park neighborhood and is under investigation by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Willingboro Township Police Department.

Police responded to a call reporting a burglary in progress on the first block of Harrington Circle just after 4 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of the victims in an upstairs bedroom.
