Stabbing Incident in Boston Leads to Arrest

**Boston, MA** – On Friday at approximately 2:48 PM, officers from District D-4 in South End arrested Nathaniel Almeida, 46, of New Bedford. The arrest followed a stabbing incident reported in the area.

Officers initially responded to reports of a stabbing at 474 Massachusetts Avenue. Boston Police Operations provided a description of the suspect and indicated his direction of flight.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim with multiple stab wounds. They administered medical aid and called Boston EMS, who transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim is expected to survive.

Officers canvassed the area and found a man matching the suspect’s description near Gage Street and Northampton Street. The suspect, identified as Almeida, had a laceration on his arm and was taken to the hospital.

Almeida faces charges including Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery, Threat to Commit a Crime, and Intimidation of a Witness. He is set to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

Barnegat Man Sentenced for Cocaine and Handgun Charges

**Barnegat, NJ** – Clifford Holland, 48, of Barnegat, received a prison sentence on Friday following his guilty pleas to drug and weapons charges. Judge Dina M. Vicari sentenced Holland to three years in New Jersey State Prison for possession with intent to distribute less than half an ounce of cocaine. Additionally, he received a 10-year sentence, with a five-year parole ineligibility, for unlawful possession of a handgun.

The charges stem from a February 23 incident in Barnegat. During a narcotics investigation, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Gunning River Road. Police seized cocaine and a .22 caliber revolver.

Holland had been detained since his arrest on that date. He entered his guilty pleas on September 9 before the same judge. The sentences will be served concurrently.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer commended Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke and various law enforcement agencies. The coordinated effort led to the successful prosecution and sentencing of Holland.

Long Avenue to be Closed Monday and Tuesday

Long Avenue will undergo temporary closures on Monday and Tuesday this week. Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both days, sections of Long Avenue will be inaccessible to through traffic.

The closures will affect the stretch of Long Avenue between Liberty Avenue and Bloy Street, as well as between Liberty Avenue and Central Avenue. Although access for vehicles to businesses and residences on Long Avenue is permitted, entry from Liberty Avenue will not be possible. Drivers will need to use Bloy Street or Central Avenue to access the street.

During this period, Liberty Avenue will remain open for northbound and southbound traffic with a lane shift. Drivers are advised to adhere to detours and signage or opt for an alternative route.

Duquesne Man Faces Drug Charges After Search for Sex Offender

**Pittsburgh, PA** – A search for a wanted sex offender led to the confiscation of multiple pounds of suspected marijuana and other drugs. Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced the developments concerning a Duquesne man facing several drug charges.

Detectives from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office learned that Andre Gray, 58, who was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, might be at a residence on Auriles Street. On Thursday evening, detectives encountered Mareio Gray, 45, at the location. Mareio told them that Andre did not live there but allowed them to search the premises.

While searching, detectives observed bags of suspected marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and other drug paraphernalia in plain view. After concluding that Andre Gray was not present, detectives secured the property and obtained a search warrant to investigate further.

Upon executing the search warrant, authorities confiscated over six pounds of suspected marijuana and a half pound of suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms, along with other items.
