Caught on camera: DC thief hits Southeast business in broad daylight

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A midday theft at a business in Southeast Washington has prompted a public appeal from investigators seeking to identify the suspect captured on surveillance video.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 21, at approximately 11:30 a.m. when the suspect entered a commercial establishment in the 300 block of G Street SE, took property, and fled the location.

Images of the suspect were recorded by security cameras and released by the Metropolitan Police Department in an effort to generate leads from the public.

Investigators seek assistance identifying suspect seen on video

Authorities have not disclosed the nature or value of the stolen property. No injuries were reported, and the suspect’s method of entry or exit has not been detailed.

Members of the public who recognize the individual or have relevant information are urged to contact investigators at (202) 727-9099 or anonymously text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
