In an attempt to avoid changing the definition of being fully vaccinated, which would cause major political problems for the Centers for Disease Control, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said the agency is simply “pivoting the language”.
Walensky said the definition of fully vaccinated is being changed to include the booster, during a segment on CBSN on 1/21/2022.
The agency will avoid using the term “fully vaccinated”, but now says in order to be “fully up to date”, Americans will be required to have taken their COVID-19 booster shot.
“What we’re working to do is pivot the language to make sure that everybody is as up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines as they personally could be, should be, based on when they got their last vaccine,” Walensky said.
