Chambersburg Bar Fight Leads to Assault on Officer and Arrest

CHAMBERSBURG, PA – In the early hours of Saturday, Chambersburg Police intervened in an altercation outside Legendz Bar at 464 Hollywell Ave. During the incident, Chad Steven Welch actively resisted arrest, leading to a more serious confrontation.

Welch, in the course of his resistance, forcefully shoved a Chambersburg Police officer into a parked vehicle and struck the officer in the face with a closed fist.

A Chambersburg Police K9 unit was subsequently deployed, assisting in Welch’s apprehension.

Following the altercation, Welch received medical attention for his injuries before being transported to Franklin County Jail.

He faces charges including one count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Resisting Arrest or Other Law Enforcement, and one count of Disorderly Conduct.
