Cheektowaga Teen Tried to Drown Family Dog in Bathtub

CHEEKTOWAGA, NY – Zachary A. Jackson, an 18-year-old resident of Cheektowaga, was arraigned before Cheektowaga Town Court Justice David Stevens on Monday.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that Jackson faced multiple charges, including one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and one count of Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals; Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance.

The charges stem from an incident on Wednesday, April 19, where Jackson allegedly attempted to drown a family member’s dog in a bathtub.

Jackson will return to court on Thursday, June 8, 2023, for a felony hearing.
