CHICAGO, IL – Shameka Jones, a 29-year-old resident of the 1200 block of S. Springfield Ave. in Chicago, has been charged with one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking involving a firearm.
Jones was arrested early Thursday morning by the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force. The arrest occurred around 1:24 AM on the 1300 block of S. Harding Ave. She is accused of participating in the armed hijacking of a vehicle several hours earlier, where a 35-year-old male was robbed at gunpoint in the 4700 block of W. Fifth Ave.
Following her arrest, Jones was placed into custody. She is scheduled for a detention hearing today at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
