Child Abduction Averted: Suspect in Custody After Vehicle Theft

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A distressing abduction incident involving an 11-year-old girl occurred on Saturday, June 1, 2024, but fortunately ended safely with the juvenile and the stolen vehicle recovered. The incident unfolded at approximately 1:36 PM at 2600 N 16th Street when a 24-year-old Black male allegedly took a blue Honda Odyssey, with the child inside.

Authorities quickly located both the juvenile and the vehicle at 3200 Randolph Street. The suspect was arrested without incident, and, reassuringly, no injuries were reported to the child involved.
