Chinatown shooting sends one to hospital

NEW YORK, NY – Gunfire rang out in Chinatown last Friday, leaving one person injured during a dispute.

Now, the New York City Police Department is seeking information about the shooting that happened at 12:40 am when a 28-year-old male victim was sitting in his vehicle in front of 51 Chrystie Street.

According to police, an unknown individual approached him and initiated a dispute.

As the dispute escalated, the individual displayed a firearm and discharged it multiple times at the victim, causing a gunshot wound to the left cheek and a graze wound to the back of the neck. The assailant fled on foot, heading north on Chrystie Street.

The victim, in stable condition, drove himself to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue.
