NEWPORT NEWS, VA – A professor at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia is being bashed on Twitter today after calling Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin a “Trumpist Retard” in the middle of genetics class. The university has not responded to this video and offensive language that is insulting to disabled people.
The use of the word “retard” has long been frowned upon as a derogatory slur against handicapped and disabled people in America.
The word, which literally means, to delay or hold back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment was widely used in the 20th century as a slur to bully, harass and intimidate school children in special education programs and people with mental or physical handicaps.
