Co-Workers Claim $540K Christmas Day Multi-Match Win in Baltimore

Money - Lottery winning jackpot.

WINDSOR MILL, MD, – A group of five co-workers from Baltimore experienced a remarkable Christmas Day 2023, winning a $540,000 Multi-Match jackpot from the Maryland Lottery. This memorable win brings a new holiday tradition to their workplace.

The Multi-Match game, favored by the group for its appealing odds compared to Mega Millions and Powerball, proved fortunate for them. The odds of winning the jackpot in Multi-Match are 1 in 2 million per $2 ticket, significantly better than the multistate games. The group, comprising two members from Baltimore City, two from Baltimore County, and one from Anne Arundel County, had never won a significant prize before, despite their regular participation.

Their winning journey began with a $2 quick-pick ticket purchased at The News Stand in Windsor Mill. The group leader, upon scanning the ticket at a Lottery retailer, was initially in disbelief until a store employee confirmed their jackpot win.

Upon realizing the magnitude of their success, the leader immediately informed some group members, who initially thought it was a joke. The authenticity of their win was confirmed the following Monday when the leader presented the jackpot-winning ticket at work.

The lucky winners plan to use their shares to pay off bills, with two considering a vacation when the weather warms up.

The News Stand, located at 6901 Security Boulevard in Windsor Mill, also celebrates as the retailer earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
