The odds of winning the jackpot in Multi-Match are 1 in 2 million per $2 ticket, significantly better than the multistate games. The group, comprising two members from Baltimore City, two from Baltimore County, and one from Anne Arundel County, had never won a significant prize before, despite their regular participation.
Their winning journey began with a $2 quick-pick ticket purchased at The News Stand in Windsor Mill. The group leader, upon scanning the ticket at a Lottery retailer, was initially in disbelief until a store employee confirmed their jackpot win.
Upon realizing the magnitude of their success, the leader immediately informed some group members, who initially thought it was a joke. The authenticity of their win was confirmed the following Monday when the leader presented the jackpot-winning ticket at work.
