COLLEGE PARK, MD – A 57-year-old maintenance technician and self-proclaimed “biggest scratch-off fan” from College Park has claimed a $100,000 top prize in the Hot 7s Multiplier game.

The father of two made his fortunate purchase at the 7-Eleven #11667 in College Park. “I was there to pick up some milk, and I decided to play,” he said. He chose the Hot 7s Multiplier game because a friend had won $100 on it a few days earlier.

Scratching the ticket in his car, the man experienced a wave of emotions as he revealed the $100,000 prize. “I was suddenly very, very nervous. Sweating. Heavy breathing. It took a few minutes for my hands to stop shaking enough to drive home.”

The winner plans to use the prize money to assist in buying a new car that he will share with his daughter. The 7-Eleven store, located at 8900 Edmonston Road, will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Hot 7s Multiplier was introduced in May and features eight $100,000 top prizes and 32 $10,000 second-tier prizes. Currently, three top prizes and 16 second-tier prizes remain unclaimed.
