Columbus Police Arrest Suspect in January Homicide

COLUMBUS, OHIO — The Columbus Division of Police has announced the arrest of Mr. Leon Mason in connection to the homicide of Mr. Deangelo Williams Jr., which occurred in late January.

On January 28, at around 12:46 a.m., police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Kimberly Parkway following an unspecified complaint. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mr. Williams Jr. unresponsive in a vehicle, having collided with several parked vehicles and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on January 29.

Mr. Mason was apprehended without incident by Critical Response Team personnel on February 27, on charges of Murder and Felonious Assault related to this case.
