Columbus Police Offer $5,000 Reward in Reported Gunfire Incident Directed at Police

COLUMBUS, OH – The Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Capital City Lodge #9 have recently announced a joint effort in seeking information that could lead to the arrest of individuals responsible for a recent act of violence against police officers.

The two organizations are offering a $5,000 reward for any leads that could identify and aid in the apprehension of those involved in the incident.

The incident took place on Indianola Ave. on April 29, 2023, during what has been described as a ‘street takeover’ event.

Officers were actively engaged in blocking off the area when they were unexpectedly subjected to gunfire. Body-worn camera footage from the scene captured the nerve-wracking moments as officers had to scramble for cover.

The footage suggests that hundreds of people were present during the event, either participating or as bystanders.
