Commissioners Approve $250k for Design of New Sheriff’s HQ

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy wants a castle of his own and wants to move his headquarters from the Ocean County Justice Complex to a new headquarters building dedicated to his department nearby.

An ordinance allocating $250,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for the purpose of designing a Sheriff’s facility situated in Downtown Toms River. That fee is only for the design process for a facility that could cost tens of millions of dollars to build.

The Board of Commissioners approved the cost ina recent ordinance.

A sum of $250,000 was allocated from the Capital Improvement Fund. This allocation is intended to cover the expenses associated with designing a Sheriff’s facility located in Toms River Township.
