TOMS RIVER, NJ – In response to a recent surge in COVID-19 infections, numerous hospitals across New Jersey have reinstated mask mandates this October.
On October 4, 2023, Inspira Health and Holy Name Medical Center were among those that updated their mask policies, reflecting a collective action to enhance preventive measures amidst escalating infection rates.
New Jersey’s largest healthcare network, RWJBarnabas Health, has also reinstated mask protocols across all its facilities due to the rise in coronavirus cases. In a similar vein, Hackensack Meridian Health reimposed mask mandates at three of its facilities around late September, mandating all staff, patients, and visitors to adhere to the face-covering policy.
Shortly thereafter, on October 2, Community Medical Center in Toms River followed suit, reinstating mask mandates for all individuals within its premises as a part of the Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health network’s initiative to curb virus transmission.
Additionally, five other hospitals in the state, including Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank and Ocean University Medical Center in Brick, have bolstered their mask mandates in response to a spike in COVID-19 cases.
This move is part of a broader initiative aimed at ensuring a safe environment for both patients and healthcare providers.
