Conversation leads to shooting in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A shooting incident at a parking lot on the 1400 block of New Walkertown Road is currently under investigation by the Winston-Salem Police Department. On Sunday morning, at approximately 7:58 am, officers responded to the scene following a report of gunfire.

It was established that the victim had been engaged in a conversation with the suspect when the latter produced a firearm and shot the victim in the chest at about 6:43 am. The victim, whose injuries are considered non-life-threatening, was conveyed to a local hospital.

The investigation is still ongoing, with no suspect information available at present.
