Cops collar suspect in brazen Southeast D.C. shooting

WASHINGTON, DC — A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a July 3 shooting in Southeast D.C. that left one person injured, police said.

Metropolitan Police officers responded around 11:19 a.m. to the 3700 block of 9th Street Southeast for a report of gunfire and found an adult male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

On July 22, police arrested Marquis Jenkins of Southeast DC pursuant to a DC Superior Court warrant. He has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun).
