Cranford street fest draws crowds with crafts, food and music

Cranford, NJ – North Union Avenue turned into a lively corridor of sights, sounds and flavors Sunday as more than 100 artisans and local businesses filled the streets for the newly rebranded Cranford Street Fest. The annual tradition, once known as the Cranford Street Fair, took on a refreshed identity this year while keeping its familiar mix of food, crafts and live performances that have long made it a community draw.

From handmade jewelry and original artwork to gourmet snacks and homegrown specialties, vendors lined Union Avenue and Alden Street, giving visitors a chance to browse, shop and sample throughout the six-hour event. Local restaurants spilled onto the sidewalks, offering tastes of their menus alongside food trucks serving a range of cuisines.

Families with children filled the festival grounds, taking in activities designed for all ages, while live bands and performers added a steady backdrop of music from late morning until early evening. With admission free and the streets closed to traffic, organizers emphasized the open, welcoming atmosphere as residents and visitors moved easily between stalls and attractions.

The festival underscored the township’s emphasis on supporting small businesses and celebrating Cranford’s role as a hub for local artisans.

By the time the sun set, Union Avenue had returned to its usual pace, but the festival’s energy left a mark on the town center.

Cranford’s big street party proved once again that community spirit sells.
