Crash shuts down I-195 near the Howell-Jackson border during Thursday rush hour

HOWELL, NJ – A serious crash shut down traffic in both directions on Interstate 195 during the evening rush on Thursday.

At around 4:45 pm, a motor vehicle crash west of Exit 28 on Interstate 195 brought traffic to a crawl as the roadway was shut down. Westbound traffic was diverted through the highway’s shoulder for a period during the investigation.

At this time, it is unknown whether or not any serious injuries were reported in the crash that spread across multiple lanes on both sides of the highway.

The New Jersey State Police have not released any details regarding the crash.
