Critical Missing Child Alert Issued for 12-Year-Old girl in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 12-year-old girl, Ja’Niya Sharmice Lindsey, was last seen Sunday morning in the 2500 block of Sheridan Road SE, sparking an urgent search effort by police.

Ja’Niya was last seen around 10:00 a.m. She is described by police as a Black female, 4’9” tall, weighing 133 pounds, with black hair and dark brown eyes. She was wearing a black jacket with a gray fur hood, navy blue jeans, and gray Nike shoes at the time of her disappearance.

The case is currently under investigation, and officials are working to gather any leads that could help locate her.
