Crowbar-Wielding Suspect Shot After Charging Deputy

ROUTMAN, N.C. – An officer-involved shooting incident took place in Iredell County on Rebekah Lane shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office reported that 30-year-old Jessie Michael Teno, armed with a crowbar, charged at a deputy during an arrest attempt.

In the ensuing struggle, Teno was shot but continued to resist.

He was eventually apprehended and received immediate medical attention.

Teno faces charges including felony assault with a deadly weapon on a governmental official. The deputy involved was treated for injuries and has been placed on administrative leave as per departmental policy.
