Suspect Who Beat 90-Year-Old Man To Death Facing Homicide Charge

CUMBERLAND, MD – On November 8, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a call on New Hampshire Avenue, where a 90-year-old male victim was assaulted.

Shawn Patrick Tallman, a 31-year-old from Cumberland, was arrested following the assault. The victim, who sustained facial injuries, was transported to a hospital for treatment.

However, his condition deteriorated, leading to his death on November 11. The death has since been ruled a homicide.

As a result of the grand jury review on Wednesday, Tallman now faces additional charges including second-degree murder. He remains in custody at the Allegany County Detention Center.
