CUMBERLAND, MD – Rodney Lee Smith, 56, of Cumberland, was served a criminal summons by the Cumberland Police Department on October 5th following a littering incident.
The summons originated from a complaint of an illegally dumped mattress and box springs near a business on N. Centre Street.
The police investigation included a review of video surveillance from the area which positively identified Smith.
Based on the evidence, charges were filed against him. Smith acknowledged receipt of the summons and now awaits a trial at the District Court. The charges levied against him are for littering and dumping under 100 pounds.
