Cumberland Police Department Reports Multiple Arrests Yesterday

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has reported several arrests made yesterday, including drug possession and assault charges.

Drug Arrests at Maryland Ave and William Street Intersection:

During a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Maryland Ave and William Street, officers from the Cumberland Police Department called in a CPD K9 unit. The K9’s detection led to further investigation, resulting in two arrests for possession of a controlled, dangerous substance, suspected to be Fentanyl.

  • Courtney Marie Hall, 26, from Ridgeley, WV, was issued a Maryland Uniform Criminal Citation for possession of a controlled, dangerous substance and released from the scene.
  • Jessie Luke Vanmeter, 38, from Romney, WV, faced similar charges and was also released after receiving a Maryland Uniform Criminal Citation.

Summons for Assault-Second Degree:

In a separate incident on the same day, Cumberland Police Officers served a Criminal Summons to Jeremy William Everett. The summons, resulting from an assault-second degree charge, led to his release from the scene.

  • Jeremy William Everett, 25, from Cumberland, MD, was charged with assault-second degree.
