Cumberland Resident Arrested for Failing to Appear in Court

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland City Police announced the arrest of Ron Stephen Claggett Jr, 34, on charges related to a failure to appear in court.

The arrest occurred on Wednesday, following a bench warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on Monday.

Claggett, a resident of Cumberland, was originally due in court on June 3rd for a charge of driving an uninsured vehicle but failed to appear. After his arrest, he was presented before the District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance and subsequently released on his own recognizance.
