Cumberland Woman Arrested for Assault with a Shotgun

CUMBERLAND, MD – Yesterday, Cumberland City Police arrested 50-year-old Samantha Jean Glotfelty, charging her with assault and reckless endangerment following an incident on April 25, 2023. Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Fairview Ave, where they determined Glotfelty had assaulted a male subject inside the home during a verbal altercation.

It is alleged that Glotfelty threatened the victim with a loaded shotgun.

Glotfelty was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance and subsequently remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, where she is currently being held without bond.

She faces charges of first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and intoxicated endangerment.
