Cumberland Woman Shot Fireworks At Victim Before Brawl

CUMBERLAND, MD — Jennifer Marie Carretti, 41, was arrested following an assault that involved the use of fireworks at a home on the 800 block of Greene St. The incident occurred on Friday, April 19, after Cumberland City Police were called to the scene.

According to police reports, the victim had returned from the store to find Carretti at the residence. An argument ensued, which escalated into a physical altercation. It is alleged that during the confrontation, Carretti lit a firework and assaulted the victim with it, causing burns. Officers at the scene observed injuries on the victim and noted that the residence was filled with smoke.

Carretti was charged with second degree assault and reckless endangerment. She has been released on a $2,500 unsecured bond following her initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
