D.C. Dispute Leaves Suspect and Victim Shot

Washington, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department has swiftly arrested a suspect involved in a shooting in Northwest.

On Friday at approximately 11:38 p.m., during a verbal dispute inside a venue on the 3500 block of 14th Street, Northwest, the suspect produced and fired a firearm, striking both the victim and himself. Fourth District officers responded, finding both individuals injured.

Both the victim and the suspect were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, 24-year-old Santos Duarte-Euceda of Northwest, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a pistol without a license as a prior felon, and possession of an unregistered firearm. A handgun was also recovered at the scene.
