WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 21-year-old man was arrested for an armed carjacker who pulled a gun on a driver and demanded they exited their vehicle on Tuesday.

The carjacking happened in the 1200 block of C Street at around 5:30 pm.

“At approximately 5:30 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle,” the department said. “The suspect then took other property from the victim and fled the scene with the victim’s vehicle.”

On Wednesday, police arrested Darius Butler, 21, of Hillcrest Heights, Maryland and charged him with armed carjacking.
