D.C. Police Nab Suspect After Gunpoint Assault in Northwest

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A confrontational encounter in Northwest led to the arrest of 33-year-old Daniel Nathaniel Anthony, following his alleged assault with a handgun. The incident, reported on April 2 at around 2:46 p.m., involved a verbal altercation on N Street, Northwest, after which Anthony reportedly brandished a firearm at the victim.

Quick response by the police led to the suspect’s apprehension and the recovery of the handgun, which was identified as stolen from another jurisdiction. Anthony faces multiple charges, including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (gun), Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a License, and Receiving Stolen Property.

The Metropolitan Police Department urges the community to report illegal gun activities through their hotline or text tip line, emphasizing caution and safety in such situations.
