D.C. Police Searching For Hit And Run Suspect Caught On Camera

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating a major crash which left a pedestrian hospitalized with life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. This incident happened on Friday night on the 2700 Block of 18th Street in Northeast, D.C. The police are asking for help identifying the person of interest and the vehicle of interest.

According to detectives, “At approximately 11:12 pm, the operator of a black BMW sedan accelerated at a high rate of speed at the listed location and struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. The striking vehicle then fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.”

Nearby surveillance cameras captured the person and vehicle of interest.
