Washington, D.C. — A woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left a man injured Monday evening in Northeast Washington, police announced Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 5:35 p.m. on April 28 in the 800 block of Bladensburg Road NE. Fifth District officers were flagged down by the victim, who told them he had been stabbed by a woman who then fled the scene. DC Fire and EMS transported the man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Surveillance footage from the area helped detectives identify the suspect, whose image was then shared with patrol officers during the ongoing search.

Arrest made one day after attack
On April 29, patrol officers who had received the suspect’s photo recognized and located her. The suspect, identified as Grace Shanita Hilliard, 42, of Northeast D.C., was arrested without incident.
Hilliard was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (knife) following the investigation by detectives.
